Lewis Carroll´s Biography
Lewis Carroll was the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, a famous English writer, mathematician, and photographer. He was born on January 27, 1832, in Daresbury, England. Carroll was a shy but intelligent man who loved logic, puzzles, and storytelling. He studied and later taught mathematics at Christ Church, part of the University of Oxford.
He became world-famous for writing the children’s book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, published in 1865. The story was inspired by a young girl named Alice Liddell, whom he entertained with imaginative tales. He later wrote the sequel, Through the Looking-Glass, which also became very popular.
Besides writing stories, Carroll enjoyed photography and creating word games and poems. His books are known for their creativity, fantasy, and playful use of language. Lewis Carroll died on January 14, 1898, but his stories continue to be loved by children and adults all over the world.
