The Script

[Setting: A small table at a local café in Bogotá. There is a box filled with small wrapped gifts and notes.]

Valentina

Alright, everyone! The time has come. Today we reveal our Amigo Secreto for Love and Friendship Day!

Mateo

(Clapping)

Finally! I am ready for my chocolate. I hope my secret friend bought the big one.

Carlos

Mateo, you only care about food. Did you even write a nice note for your person?

Mateo

Of course I did! It said: «I hope you like sugar.» Short and sweet.

Sofía

(Laughing)

You are terrible at this, Mateo. This day is about love and good friends. Look at the little red hearts everywhere in the street today.

Carlos

Yes, and look at Andrés. He is very quiet. Andrés, did Cupid shoot you with an arrow today? Why are you so nervous?

Andrés

(Blushing)

No! Well… maybe a little. It is hard when your amigo secreto is sitting right across from you.

Sofía

Oh! Who is it, Andrés? Tell us!

Valentina

Wait! Do not spoil the surprise yet. Let us draw the final names and read the poems first. Who has number one?

Mateo

I do! And I have a confession. My amigo secreto is… Carlos! Here is your candy, buddy. Happy Love and Friendship Day!

Carlos

(Taking the candy)

A chocolate bar! Mateo, you are my true friend. Thank you.

Sofía

(Smiling)

See? Love comes in many forms. Whether it is romantic love or friendship, we are lucky to have each other.

Andrés

(Looking at Sofía and handing her a small card)

Happy day Sofía. This is for you.

Sofía

(Opening the card, surprised and happy)

Oh, Andrés! It was you all along! Happy Friendship Day, everyone!
